Very little is known about the mysterious race called the Noghri. In fact, nothing is known about them. There is no mention of them anywhere in the Imperial database on Coruscant, the former capital of the Empire. They seem to serve the Empire, though, with an almost fanatical resolve, a dedication that seems to surpass mere loyalty. Indeed, they figure prominently into Grand Admiral Thrawn's plans, as he calls upon his Noghri Death Commandos to bring him Princess Leia Organa-Solo...
The Noghri Death Commandos are ruthlessly efficient, willing to give up their lives for the succesful completion of their mission. They serve a variety of functions, from Rukh, Grand Admiral Thrawn's personal bodyguard, to assasination squads, to just about anything their Imperial master commands. They are socially similar to the Wookiees in some respects, espcially in their dedication to honour, which is more important than anything to them. This only serves to strengthen their resolve, however, as they would prefer death to the dishonour of failing their Imperial commander...
