| Sarians have the general appearance of any other human found in the Core Worlds and other
select regions of the galaxy. However, they can be distinguished by a series of pigmented
markings called "Sar Spots" that cover the scalp and run down the temples, neck, shoulders,
and spill onto a Sarian's back. These spots are very bold and noticeable, and a few Sarians
attempt to conceal them with hoods, hats, and long hair. The usual case is one of pride, though, and the typical Sarian displays them prominently.
Other traits vary from region to region of origin. Eireasarians have very pale complexions and coppery red hair, with Sar Spots usually a vibrant russet. The dust-haired Casohvili usually have a wider variety of skintone and Sar Spot variations. Meditersarians have bronze skin with very black hair and deep brown spots. Lastly, Janhoviali have very dark, almost black skin and light tan Sar Spots. In all cases, the Sar Spots never change and remain a fixed characteristic, very difficult to conceal and nearly impossible to remove. Additionally, the Sarians place a great deal of cultural importance on artistry, with body art being one of the main focal points. Tatoos, armlets, brands, and paintings on the body are often done with magnificent skill and are extremely ornate. In fact, these markings often carry social standing, like a caste system, but are not related to economics. More often than not, a group of warriors will sport similar tatoos on their upper arms, while a shaman may have a large, ornate symbol on his forehead. |
