Sullustans are jowled, mouse-eared humanoids with large, round eyes. They hail from Sullust, a harsh, volcanic planet located between Yetoom and Ithor. The planet, covered with thickclouds of hot, barely-breathable gasses, is honeycombed with numerous caves - it is within these caves that these people have made their homes. Constructed with elaborate care, the cities are massive tourist draws, some looking for theraputic rejuvenation in hot springs and underground mud flats.

Sullustans are known and highly valued as pilots and navigators, and they have excellent senses of vision and hearing, as well as direction. Memory is also one of their strong points, since all Sullustans must remember any path they have traveled.

Sullust is controlled by the huge SoroSuub Cooporation, commanding industrial ventures in mining, energy, packaging, and production. Over half the population is employed by the corporation. However, the work is harsh and at times inhumane, and the company has a deep allegiance to the Empire. This manifests itself in stiff regulations, crackdowns, and rigid patrols of Sullustan territory by their own kind.

Mere months before the Battle of Endor, the Sullustans overthrew SoroSuub's deathgrip on the government and aligned with the Alliance, even going so far as to adding many skilled Sullustan pilots, navigators, soldiers, and advisors. The Rebel fleet would rally here for the final assault on Death Star II.
