Talon Karrde is a player of the Fringe; low profile, quiet, and some say honest, though to link such a word with a smuggler seems odd. His group, known to be efficient and close-knit, ranges over the quadrant Tatooine occupies, and the better informed mutter rumor that Karrde's group gained Jabba the Hutt's smuggling business when the head of that organization was lopped off. Aside from the occasional rumor, little is known about Karrde's group, and they seem to avoid outrageous speculation.

Like the people he heads, Talon Karrde is as low profile, if not more. Unlike many smugglers, he has chosen to surround himself with capable people, rising through the business to make a good living. Intelligent, meticulous and cunning, and often a 'cold fish', Karrde conducts his various businesses with a sure hand and the tactical ability of a Grand Admiral.
